Workshop days are held at my lovely Effingham studio from 10.30am until 4.30pm. Numbers are limited to ensure everyone has enough space to work and personal attention from myself. The fee includes all drinks, a delicious  lunch (veggies are fine) and loads of materials to sample and use.

The days start with a demonstration for using various media and techniques, followed by studio time to experiment, with as much help and guidance as required. All abilities are very welcome, with beginners and experienced artists alike enjoying a creative environment and exchange of ideas.

The workshops are always popular, so to secure your place please e-mail me with your choice of day. You may either pay in full, in advance, or pay a deposit of £20 with the balance paid on the day. Payment can be made by PayPal to tessa@pmuk.com or by direct bank transfer . If a workshop is cancelled within 7 days, refunds are only made if the place can be filled. Please e-mail or telephone me for any more information. t: 07736 211105 /01372 452900 e:tessa@pmuk.com.

If workshop numbers are very low, I may postpone or cancel a workshop day, but I will give plenty of notice for rebooking.

BIG BOLD FLORALS!     Friday 22nd June  FULL

1 day £55 per day    NEW DATE FRIDAY JULY 6th FULL

Who doesn’t want to paint big and bold flowers in glorious colour?! I will demonstrate and encourage you to get those big brushes out and go large….

You will work from vases of flowers and make initial drawings to familiarise yourself with the forms, then after some thumbnail studies to organise the composition you will paint free and loose with water based paints and inks, possibly introducing collaged elements and the drawn line as well.

COLOUR! GROW YOUR PALETTE.    Thursday 28th June

1 day  £55 per day FULL

We are all guilty of returning to the same old colour combinations in our paint boxes… in this one day workshop I will show you how to look at colour and find those special combinations and ratios of colour balance and hue/tone which will make your work pop! I will help you mix your colours too, without making mud!

We will work from life and from photographs to make lots of colour studies using paint and collage, then apply the best combinations to a simple image.

BEAUTIFUL BORDERS IN MIXED MEDIA!     Tues 26th / Wed 27th June    FULL

2 days £55 per day/ £100 for two days.

For this favourite subject I will show you how to untangle the masses of foliage and colour in the garden and create paintings from simple flower studies to bold abstracts from sketchbook drawings made in the flowerbeds.

I will demonstrate techniques for initial sketches, then guide you through composition and media choices to create a finished painting.

I will work with watermedia on paper, but can also show you acrylic on canvas or board if you prefer.
